Crack Square
Crack Square, also known as "Kikar Amerikaim" by Israelis, is a small square opposite 'Cafe Hillel' and 'Coffee Bean' in Rechov Yaffo in downtown Jerusalem known as a hangout for yeshiva guys and seminary girls who like to drink and do drugs. Crack square is infamous amongst Niveh guys, and many fights take place there. Any yeshiva rebel worth his salt has at least one story about crack square.
The origins of the name "Crack Square" are a matter of dispute amongst many scholars (ok fine, they're not scholars they're actually Niveh & Ner Jake guys), with some claiming it originated from all the crack heads always sitting in the square, others claiming it originated from all the beer bottles thrown and cracked by the crack heads in the square, and yet others claiming it originated from all the heads cracked open in numerous fist fights between crack head yeshiva guys in the square. But all disputes aside, the concensus is that the naming had at least something to do with the crack heads in the square.
